We are holding our monthly This is Fire event on Tuesday, June 14. This is Fire is intended to introduce or reintroduce the community to what we do here at Fire Historical and Cultural Arts Collaborative. Each month will have a theme and this month we will highlight Student Success. We've chosen this as our theme because we have a number of amazing student successes to applaud. At Fire we are celebrating our high school and college graduates and the successes of some amazing middle school kids who got to show off the fruits of  their six-week journey in expressing their authentic selves at Fire.  Please  rsvp or email your attendance by   Monday, June 20 at noon  if you can attend.

If you know other people you think would enjoy checking us out this month or in the months to come, please let us know or bring them with you.

If you need some persuading to come get to know more about Fire, please check out our youth blog to see what Fire's young people are thinking about or read further to learn some of the specific people we are celebrating.

First, we are honoring our high school graduates that completed their educations at Loy Norrix, Comstock or Portage Central High Schools. They include: Brianna Washington,
                                  Zachaeus Lomax, Corinna Hinton, Jasmine
                                  Franklin
and Dominique Essix - all are heading off to local or national colleges to pursue their dreams.  We are also celebrating our college
graduate - Margy Brill who is headed to Minnesota to continue the social justice work she is so passionate about. And finally, we are celebrating the culmination of a life-changing project with 18 students from the Alternative Learning Program of New Genesis.

So, come to Fire to meet some of these young people, hear them perform, find out what they will be doing next and see the work they have produced. The open house will also be a great opportunity to learn more about Fire.

Again, please rsvp by filling in the form to the right.

Hope to see you at Fire,
