tracks, record these to the computer or sampler for
further sound manipulation; then record; and finally

DJing

use of an amplifier, DJ mixer, turntable, CD player,
Computer and Ipod.

Hip Hop
The course focuses on music as an element used
to discover new things.  This course will teach
artists to gain knowledge of their strengths and
allow them to use their challenges as pieces of art.
Artists will learn to use joy and pain and life
experiences  and incorporate them into pieces of
poetry and hip hop.

Voice
Contemporary and standard music pieces will be
used as tools for the students to discover and fine
tune their vocal performance skills.  By the end of
this class, students will understand support, and
projection of the voice as well as dramatic
emphasis while speaking and singing.  Other skills
learned will include the audition process and
preparation and taking direction. All students will
be in a performance.  No experience necessary.
Only requirements are ability to listen, a willingness
to learn, and the courage to be fantastic!

Poetry
Artists will learn to find and express their poetic
voice through use of rhythm, rhyme, and imagery by
tapping into and then expressing what matters to
them on the page and on the stage.

Visual Art
This course is for students of all levels of drawing
experience interested in expanding their
understanding of the principles of 2-D art. Projects
encourage the development of skills in drawing
from observation and the creation of personal
imagery. Students use a range of materials and
techniques, such as charcoal, pencils, pen and ink,
or oil pastel.

Graffiti Art
Artitsts will engage in programs to create their own
graffiti artwork under the support and guidance of
an accomplished Graffiti artist. The course will
provide concentrated creativity in the often
misunderstood medium of graffiti and street art.
Artists will concentrate on the production and
effects of urban art, what motivates the artists,
what they want people to see and what they want
people to feel.

Graphic Art
Artists will learn to create materials to promote
themselves as artists by creating electronic
promotional materials and fliers. Participants will
engage in hands-on projects through the use of
the fine arts, desk-top computers, scanned images
