| Fire and the Loft provide unique settings for performance and slam poetry, live music, live theater, improv comedy, day and overnight retreats, and art exhibits that are a part of Kalamazoo's Art Hop, inside the 1903 Portage Street Fire Station. Fire currently hosts weekly, bi-weekly and monthly music, visual art, poetry and relaxation events and offers: a Lounge Atmosphere featuring live music by dj DISobedience and Fire's house band, The Movement Art Gallery Live Local and International Music Documentary Films Live Theater Power Point Computer and Projection Access Catering Arrangements Waterstreet Coffee and Tea Event, Retreat & Meeting Rental Space Fire prides itself on being a space wherein what people imagine can come to life. | dj DISobedience is spinning neo-soul, r&b, hip hop and spoken word on Thursay's on WIDR 89.1fm from midnight - 2 am and soul of the 60's, 70's and 80's on WIDR 89.1fm Saturday's from 11am - 1 pm. Fire hosts a regular 1st Friday poetry night that features an open mic beginning around 9 pm with a feature performance poet from around the state or the country following the open mic.
