Creative Justice Productions has as its mission to encourage and respond to people's desire for authentic expression. We publish because we believe that creating opportunities for all voices to be heard - especially those who have been traditionally underrepresented in the publishing industry - generates and sustains social justice. Creative Justice Productions has grown out of five successful years of creating a physical space for the arts at Fire Historical and Cultural Arts Collaborative. All proceeds from products of Creative Justice Productions go to support the work of Fire.
Creative Justice Productions includes Creative Justice Press and Creative Justice Studios.
Keeping in line with meeting the desire for expression, Fire provides a space, the encouragement, the resources and the instruction for people to write, sing, rap and record their own music. The emerging artists (youth, young adults and adults of all ages) that have come to Justice Studios have some amazing talents. The songs on this page reflect their abilities to write, sing, rap, play instruments and record. Some of the artists on the cd have discovered these talents at Fire and some of them have honed them here. Many of the songs were also recorded in Fire's very own studio! Listen and enjoy!
