2011 Creative Justice Press Winter Chapbook and Anthology Contests - Deadline Extended to April 7, 2011

Creative Justice Press has as its mission to encourage and respond to people's desire for authentic expression. We publish because we believe that creating opportunities for all voices to be heard - especially those who have been traditionally underrepresented in the publishing industry - generates and sustains social justice. Creative Justice Press has grown out of five successful years of creating a physical space for poetry at Fire Historical and Cultural Arts Collaborative. All proceeds from these contests go to support the work of Fire.
Our Winter 2011 Contests include:
1. The 2011 Creative Justice Winter Chapbook Competition - The prize includes $50, Fall 2011 publication of the poet's chapbook by Creative Justice Press, and 10 copies.
2. The Spoken Word CD and Anthology Competition - There will be 10 poets chosen as winners. The prize for these ten includes publication in the SPOKEN anthology and a poem on the SPOKEN CD and a copy of each. Those chosen for publication will also get an opportunity to come to Fire to record their poem in a professional studio. There will be 10 winners chosen for publication and recording of one poem, but only one GRAND PRIZE winner. The grand prize winner will get to record AN ENTIRE spoken word cd and get 10 copies of the final cd. (If you are a finalist for the grand prize, you will be required to submit 10 poems for consideration.)
