Fire’s culinary arts program – bites is the in-house concession and catering initiative of the Fire Historical and Cultural Arts Collaborative working with Youth Opportunities Unlimited-a division of KRESA–and local Chef Howie Peak, in the licensed kitchen of the Milwood United Methodist Church, to provide a Taste the Culinary Arts program for interested students from the Kalamazoo Public Schools and our local colleges.
The program is hands-on instruction in the culinary basics with an emphasis on employability and work experience. The program has already catered multiple events with rave reviews. About our food
Please note that all meats are free range, all vegetable and bean dishes are meat-free, and all other food is organic and local when possible. All food is served on environmentally sustainable paper products and utensils. Give us a call if there is something else that you are looking for that you do not see on the menu. bites can also provide an extensive vegetarian protein based menu.
